Curriculum
BSE uses the Timorese curriculum and adds elements of the Australian curriculum. This ensures your child learns English, Tetun and Portuguese. At BSE we provide an international standard of education from Foundation to Year 12 accessible to all those in Timor, that enables economic, social and political development of the nation. Fostered in its school values and Catholic identity, students don’t just learn for themselves but for their community and country, creating courageous leaders of tomorrow.
BSE can be characterised as:
- A safe learning environment for learners and their communities built on a foundation of respect, equity and excellence;
- Learners who demonstrate the values of compassion, commitment, competence and creativity;
- A culture in which learners don’t just learn for themselves but learn for their community and to empower their country as it develops;

Enrolment
An enrolment period for the 2024 intake is expected to be held between October and December 2023. We invite students born between 1 August 2018 – 30 July 2019 to apply for the school. The school will begin with Kindergarten (the year before year 1).
Employment
We are a progressively built school. We will be hiring for future cooks, cleaners, security and teachers over the next couple of years.

Parents
We are incredibly excited to welcome you and your child to the Bakhita School of Excellence commencing with the Foundation Year (year before Year 1). A child’s education is not just for themselves but for their family and the community at large. Therefore, we do ask that you take an active interest in your child’s education.

The Bakhita School of Excellence is more than just a school.
