A Strong Partnership: Welcoming the 2026 Parent Council

by Ornella Byak | Mar 17, 2026

At our first parent meeting of the year, the Bakhita School of Excellence community came together to reflect on the year ahead and to elect the new Parent Council.

These meetings are an important part of how the school works in partnership with families. They ensure that parents have a voice in the life of the school and help strengthen the shared responsibility we all have in supporting our children’s education.

We would first like to extend our sincere thanks to the 2025 Parent Council for their dedication and service throughout the past year:

  • President: Cecia’s Dad
  • Vice-President: Liveria’s Mum
  • Secretary: Orlee’s Mum
  • Logistics: Jaid’s Mum
  • Treasurer: Zidanio’s Mum

Their commitment and support played an important role in helping the school grow and run smoothly.

We are also pleased to welcome the 2026 Parent Council:

  • President: Maria’s Dad
  • Vice-President: Jose Jeido’s Mum
  • Secretary: Genezio’s Grandfather
  • Logistics: Rafita’s Dad
  • Treasurer: Cecilia’s Mum

It is wonderful to see representation from each year level on the council, ensuring that the perspectives of all families are included. The new council has already begun meeting and discussing key matters raised by both parents and the school, working together with the relevant stakeholders to support the continued development of Bakhita.

We also want to thank all parents for continuing to contribute their four hours of service each month to the school and for always stepping forward to help when needed. This spirit of participation and shared responsibility is what makes Bakhita so special.

It is inspiring to see the strength of the community among our parents — and to see clearly that this is their school.

We look forward to working together for another great year ahead.
