The Bakhita English Institute (BEI) has reached an important milestone, officially receiving both Operational Licensing and Institutional Accreditation from INDMO — Timor-Leste’s national body responsible for regulating and accrediting professional training centres.
This recognition confirms that BEI meets national requirements to deliver professional English language training and can now operate as an accredited provider in Timor-Leste.
Following a short break for one term, we are also pleased to share that classes at BEI are now back up and running. Each evening, students are once again filling the classrooms with energy, commitment, and a clear desire to learn.
Early results from this term are already encouraging, with Exam 1 scores averaging 82 out of 100 across the cohort. These results reflect both the dedication of students and the consistency of teaching, as learners continue to build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing English.
This milestone is significant not just for BEI, but for the wider community in Same and Manufahi. It means the Institute is now formally recognised, providing structured and accredited English training that supports pathways toward employment and further opportunity.
This is an important step — and part of a longer journey. With accreditation in place and classes underway, the focus now is on continuing to strengthen the program, support our teachers, and deliver high-quality education that responds to the needs of the community.
The classrooms are full again. The learning has resumed. And the work continues.
